Scheme Progress - 30 July 2004

The delivery pipe has now been moved to its third and final location at Marine Walk, Folkestone and shingle will continue to be pumped ashore for the next 2 weeks. The last infill section between the eastern structures will be filled by dumper.

Rock placement is now complete on the large rock structure and the construction of the concrete walkway has commenced on top of the concrete supports. The final barge arrived earlier this week and work will continue on the two remaining rock structures for the next two weeks.

Concrete placement on The Riviera is now finished, the remaining rocks have been replaced and work has started on the slabs at the back of Castle Road in Sandgate. The new rising main has been installed for Southern Water and this is currently undergoing a test. The remainder of the maintenance gangway is now open to the public.
