Marine Walk to Folkestone Harbour (MU 20/14)

Between Marine Walk and the western harbour arm there is approximately 1km of open shingle beach (Rotunda Beach), which is backed by a concrete seawall. The presence of the harbour arm has prevented shingle from leaving this frontage, which has resulted in a significant amount of accretion over the last few decades. This wide and accreting beach currently provides adequate protection to the seawall and hinterland.
